Excellent connections to Central, Eastern Europe and the Middle East!

The Hungarian national airline flies to more than 60 destinations from its Budapest hub. The route network takes in not only most major European cities, but also a range of unique locations in Central and Eastern Europe. Flight connections are planned to cut waiting time to a minimum, thereby making Malév an efficient bridge between Western and Eastern Europe.

Fleet

Malév fleet comprises 26 aircraft, the core of which is made up of new 18 Boeing 737 Next-Generation planes. The company is gradually upgrading its regional fleet with Q400 turboprops manufactured by plane-maker Bombardier Aerospace. The first four pre-owned Q400 turboprop aircraft - providing the perfect balance of passenger comfort and operating economics with the lowest environmental footprint - will join the Hungarian national fleet from the 2008/2009 winter schedule, to be followed by four new models coming into service from 2012.

This modern fleet allows the Hungarian airline to provide its customers with high standards, and it also permits highly efficient operation.

Malév in oneworld alliance

Certification and awards
The quality services supplied by the Hungarian national airline are recognized not only by domestic and foreign travellers but also by prestigious international bodies. Malév continually monitors and analyses passenger satisfaction and demands.

In a survey of the world's best airlines, airports, hotels and cities conducted by American Global Traveler magazine, premium frequent flyers voted Malév "Best Airline in Eastern Europe" for 2007. Malév Hungarian Airlines is awarded second times by Global Traveler magazine, as Malév was named the best Airline in Eastern Europe last year by more than 10 thousand industry professionals and frequent flyer readers.

Among the most punctual airlines in Europe
Malév aircraft flying short- and medium-haul routes had the best on-time arrival performance, the first 2008 quarterly report of the Association of European Airlines (AEA) shows.
The statistical survey summarizing traffic and baggage handling data of European airlines also revealed that Malév came third on short- and medium-haul flights in terms of punctual departures in Europe, while it is fifth on baggage delivery performance. More than 95% of the flights of Malév are within a radius of 3000 km, therefore these figures are highly representative of the airline’s overall operation.

"Airline of the Year" - 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
A poll in Hungary of tourism professionals, frequent flyer business travelers, company managers and passengers resulted in Malév being awarded the "Airline of the Year" prize for 2007. The national airline was awarded this prestigious tribute on the basis of a public opinion survey carried out by "Az Utazó" (Traveler) magazine, and it follows on from similar awards in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
